About The Wedding Party

Officiant Bill Heygi

Bill was Patrick’s freshman roommate at Eastern Michigan University in 1994. Although a random draw back then, the two hit it off immediately and have remained friends throughout the years.  As a proud employee of the University of Michigan, he cheers for both the maize and blue and the green and white (Go Eagles!) He is the captain of their Tuesday night bar trivia team because “He drinks, and he knows things.”

On the Groom’s Side

Angie Karim

Angie and Patrick met at band camp at Eastern Michigan University in 1994. They have remained extremely close over the years, attending many big life moments for each other. She and her husband use the groom as a taste tester of all the hot sauces and salsas that they make from scratch. Nothing says true friendship like a night of card games and ghost pepper jam!

Kevin Collins

Kevin, the younger brother of the Groom, and Patrick have often been told they resemble each other. They also have similar tastes in alcohol, except Kevin is into seltzers for some reason that Patrick can’t fathom. He currently lives in Clinton Township with his wife Erica, and their two young daughters.

On the Bride’s Side

Mara Dixon

Melanie’s daughter, Mara, currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she’s pursuing a career as a registered behavior technician at an Autism Center. Often not thrilled when compared to her mother in looks, she inherited mom’s emotional side and shares her love of Chinese food and ranch dressing.

Jacen Dixon

Melanie’s son, Jacen, lives in Ypsilanti and often visits his mom for a homecooked meal (cooked by Patrick of course) His passion for fitness, music and tattoos shine through on a daily basis and Melanie has promised if she ever gets a tattoo, he will be there by her side.
